New York Bridal Fashion Week is here! While the events might be smaller than in previous years, we’re happy to finally get wedding-related events in person (compared to the last season’s Covid annulments).
Journalist Sneh Diwan (did you check out the South Asian designer profile this week?) will be cruising the sidewalks of NYC for insider info about the latest trends in bridal style. Watch her live videos and updates via our Instagram page today and through the weekend!
On our blog, we’re celebrating throughout the month. In October, we’ll share the latest wedding gown collections, fashion trends reports, and top wedding gowns from the top bridal industry stylists and buyers.
We kicked off the celebration earlier this week, but I wanted to share this sassy and amusing New York City bridal editorial from Danielle Determan of Duey Photo. With gowns by Bridal Musings favorites Grace Loving Lace and Galia Lahav, This inspiration is a classic New York and reminds me that I’ll always be a New Yorker at heart (even if I’m hiding in my own on the West Coast).
From Duey Photo
The shoot was inspired by the energy and excitement of New York City combined with the trendy chic-girl bride.
The images we chose to give a nod to the past and did this by shooting the entire 35mm film in classic and well-known NYC locations, such as subways or an ice cream stand and taxi cabs, Washington Square, etc. I designed the pitch deck and then sent the deck to my two top-designer wedding dresses, Galia Lahav and Grace Loves Lace. They were interested in being part of it, as did accessories company Untamed Petals.
Two of my best friends visited NY to help me with styling and photographing, We also met the talented team of models Lindsay Solmer, makeup artist Lauren Michelle and hair stylist Francesca Maria.
