Isn’t the music working correctly? Your guests aren’t sure what to do. Some guests find that interruptions in your wedding’s flow can be a major hassle, so we’ve got strategies to ensure everything runs smoothly on your wedding day.
There are worse things, but none more so than the interruption of your flow during your wedding. If your ideal is to host a lively party from beginning to end, There are a few ways to ensure the party continues. What exactly do I mean? It means that events remain in line with the schedule, traditions happen seamlessly, and music playlists and playlists shift from one mood into the following. The whole thing happens without abrupt interruptions or any notice.
A wedding with “perfect flow” is one with which all the festivities occur without effort, with no one checking in. There are no corrections to the music, timelines, or service. No one can enjoy the wedding. That, in my opinion, is the ideal wedding.
Our friends from Be Inspired PR have tapped several wedding professionals to provide advice on how to keep your wedding on track. DJ Malike (who helped us overcome those first dance nervousness), Lisette OC Photography, and Wedding Sitter give their top tips below. And, personal advice from me!
Employ a planner or coordinator!
“I can’t stress enough how wedding coordinators can be the most beneficial vendor to hire for your wedding day, for the timeline to go according to plan. As photographer, I need to act as the coordinator when the coordinator isn’t appointed, which makes my job more difficult to ensure that each event begins and ends exactly precisely when it is supposed to!” – Lisette Gatliff, Lisette OC Photography.
Be aware of your location options.
“Besides hiring a professional to make your day go easily, there are a couple of other things that you can think about prior to the event. You can cut down on the travel time by picking a place to get ready near the location. If you’re looking for venues that allow you to get ready and hold your ceremony as well as reception in one location is best for a stress-free day.” Lisette Gatliff, Lisette OC Photography Lisette Gatliff Lisette OC Photography
Create playlists that are tailored for your attendees.
“A great playlist that grabs the attention of your guests says much. I am a sucker for dropping music that the couples specifically said their guests would enjoy. I simply look at them and watch their reactions. This could turn out to be a calming background tune from the time you graduated with your college friends or one that triggers an in-joke with your family members. It’s a great method of keeping the mood moving, regardless of whether it’s when the dinner, cocktail or prelude music is on. The guests are a part of the event. to the party.” Malike Adigun, Owner, DJ Malike Malike Adigun, Owner. DJ Malike
Host a relaxing hour of cocktails.
“Speaking of the music that is played during cocktail hour The cocktail hour is crucial to filling the gap that is left between your ceremony and reception. While you’re away taking stunning photos while you are away, you can still be a good host by inviting guests to walk from the ceremony to the time for cocktails. A playlist of chill music that creates a mood or makes them sing can help ease their minds. Make sure to include hors d’oeuvres as well as a drink to create a memorable waiting. Your guests will not even know they’re waiting for you to arrive together as spouses are catching up with old acquaintances and family members, snapping selfies amid laughter.” Malike Adigun, Owner, DJ Malike Malike Adigun, Owner, DJ Malike
The use of informational signs is an excellent idea.
“It’s possible to create signs that help guests navigate and also looks nice. We recommend having signage that leads attendees to cocktail hour, and later to the reception. Also, you can mention the photobooth or the places to eat and drink; therefore there are plenty of choices!” – Jessica Flores, CEO and Founder. wedding Sitter
Combine your formalities.
“Though everyone is at the party We know that there are certain formalities we have to complete. There’s a delicate equilibrium between performing too many formalities in succession, disrupting your flow during the evening and ensuring that you can seamlessly complete things. I suggest combining formalities in a single batch. For instance, if you plan to make your speeches after dinner you could begin the cutting of the cake as the guests are paying attention. The benefit is that you will have longer time to interact with your guests and not have cut them off for the next occasion. Three formalities at once is the best way to go.” Malike Adigun, Owner, DJ Malike Malike Adigun Owner DJ Malike
Make sure your guests are fed, hydrated, and ensure that there are enough bathrooms.
“Hungry and thirsty wedding guests will disrupt wedding festivities while they search to find food items. The long lines to get to bathrooms? This will keep your guests away from the dance floor and away from the most memorable moments. Making sure that your guests are taken by a professional will keep any unforeseen problems with special care out of the way.” Claire Eliza, Editor-in-Chief of Bridal Musings. Enjoy a signature drink on the patio.
“Everyone likes a great choice of bar at an event; however, no one wants to wait too long to drink. This can slow down the crowd back and keep the party from flowing. An innovative and enjoyable suggestion is to offer some signature drinks, which make it simpler for guests to order drinks and ensure that the floor is hopping. If one person realizes they require a drink, it triggers everyone else! Your drink menu will ensure the flow is maintained and keep your bartender content. In addition, guests will be delighted by the design since who doesn’t enjoy drinks with a theme?” – Malike Adigun DJ Malike, Owner.
