Lavish Florals Decorate This Gorgeous, Intimate Southern Wedding

Getting a lot of attention for flowers doesn’t take an enormous wedding! Elizabeth & Duston’s gorgeous & intimate Southern wedding has shown our guests that the most modest guests can make a statement with their design.

The wedding was held at the Legare Waring House, A stunning historical residence with old oak trees saturated with the iconic Spanish moss. The couple got wed before the most incredible double arch. This may be the most extravagant and stunning wedding we’ve witnessed, with a mile-long aisle through the grove of oaks sparkling with white roses and bouquets of blooms.

Indeed, such stunning floral achievements wouldn’t be as impressive without a gown that dazzled us more. The Elizabeth’s Amalia Carrara dress is still a standout with its striking train and uniquely designed off-shoulder sleeves.

Our Love Story

We were able to meet at a boarding school for gifted students academically during our junior year of high school. We were immediately attracted by each other’s talent and determination to achieve academic excellence. The struggles we faced through those two years of schooling established the foundation of mutual friendship and support built upon over the last decade.

We were engaged in UNC Chapel Hill’s campus arboretum on a gorgeous spring day. We were both elated and perhaps a little anxious too. After Dustin proposed, we stayed for the rest of the afternoon, snapping engagement pictures before dinner with friends.

Favorite Moments

The time flew by as everyone predicted it would. The highlight of our day was having just a few minutes with each other just before the ceremony. There was no first look, but we could hold hands opposite a door. It was important that we could communicate just before walking across the aisle. It helped calm our tensions.

Advice to Other Couples

Our advice for other couples planning weddings is to cherish every moment. We were both engaged from beginning to end. It’s easy to get too focused on the critical wedding day that it’s easy to forget to take a moment to smell the roses. We were ecstatic for our wedding day to come, and everything was perfect when it arrivedt. However, we would have planned a time during the day to slow down and take in the moment instead of just getting going.
