Falling In Love With Africa For Your Destination Wedding
As a Zambian-born wedding planner, I’ve been pondering the ability of Africa to host top-of-the-line destination weddings since I’ve been working on this project. Are there any decent service providers in Africa? Can I implement my design ideas there? Are there reasonable accommodations to accommodate my visitors?
The world is constantly provided with images on their screens Wo and articles on their news feeds. It’s a very polarized view of Africa. People are aware of the poverty-stricken communities, her abundant resources, and her potential to make a difference through philanthropic endeavors. But the other untold side of that story is one I believe engaged couples need–and deserve–to hear: Africa is a land rich with one-of-a-kind luxury, unforgettable experiences, acclaimed accommodations, and–yes!–award-winning event-industry professionals you need to host a fantastic destination wedding. According to what I’ve always believed in my heart: Africa is the new Italy for destination-based weddings. What can you expect when you decide to get married by locating your wedding in Africa…
Expect unreal landscapes.
Most people imagine barren, secluded settlements when thinking of Africa. However, we are an incredible continent with a wide range of cultures. It is far from being a homogeneous place. Africa is often portrayed as blessed with unspoiled beaches and lush rainforests, sprawling dunes, famous sunsets, and every natural wonder throughout our 54 diverse nations.
Zambia is home to Victoria Falls, a stunning natural marvel of the world, and the biggest waterfalls in the world (trust me whWorldsay, this is an absolute bucket-list world that everyone should visit at the very least oneoncering their lives). Choose to marry at the renowned Royal Livingstone Resort in Anantara, Zambia. You’ll be able to enjoy the stunning mists of the falls literally in your lap when you exchange vows. It’s a sight people call”the “smoke that thunders” (or “mosi-oa-tuna” in the native language).
If you’re thinking of a private and unique wedding on the beach, Mozambique in Southeastern Africa is probably the perfect destination for you. The country is famous for its beautiful beaches, sand-colored waters, c, collection of private islands, and excellent opportunities to observe whales–Mozambique truly is a dream for its unique and enthralling brand. I would recommend an elopement with Anantara Bazaruto Island Resort. Twenty-five of your best family and friends can meet at Pansy Island, an idyllic sandbank surrounded by the type of vibrant blue waters that you must experience in person to enjoy genuinely.
Be ready for a luxurious experience.
Okay, so I’ve convinced you that Africa is the perfect location for your dream destination wedding…but what about the unique experiences? There are these, too. Ultimately, the most memorable destination weddings don’t only revolve around the one-time event but more of a series of rejuvenating, exciting and unforgettable experiences for your guests and you. In Africa, you can have the opportunity to enjoy the full spectrum of backgrounds, from relaxing spa treatments to your bridal reception at our top resorts to cruises along the beautiful Zambezi River, private helicopter flights over the majestic Victoria Falls, and afternoon tea in private verandas.
Some of my top moments to experience on your wedding weekend are:
The incredible Spa treatments are available at The Royal Livingstone Resort by Anantara in Zambia
Four-course dinner on the Royal Livingstone Express, a fully restored steam train that exudes romantic, old-fashioned charm while transporting passengers straight to Victoria Falls Bridge. Victoria Falls Bridge
A romantic farm-to-table dinner with your soon-to-be-spouse on your private sandbar on Sindabezi Island (Psst…the location of the sandbar changes based on the time of year and tides, so this truly is a one-of-a-kind, impossible-to-recreate dining experience.)
Look for a design with depth.
Africa is the home of various award-winning event planners, all well-versed in layering texture, color, and floral arrangements to create a style that is alive with dimensions and depth.
We typically take the natural environment of your location as our source of inspiration. We then collaborate with skilled local artisans to design textiles and decorations that enhance the natural setting without challenging the surroundings. Another benefit is that farm tables in the style of a family and fine china, luxurious linens, massive vases, and flowers are all available in some of the most luxurious resorts in Africa and hotels, especially in Zambia.
If you’re thinking of an exotic wedding in the spirit of nature, take it one step further and enhance the beauty inherent in the natural world with thoughtful and artisanal design elements. You’llWorld yourself in the love of Africa and the talented event planners. She has.
Get ready for a truly fantastic service…and plenty of energy.
It’s challenging to capture the essence of Africa through words. It’s truly something you need to go to experience to appreciate fully. From delicious cocktails made with love to drum circles that await you when you check in to resorts listed among the Top 100 Hotels in the World, to renowned chefs who harvest ingredients straight to their gardens for the delicious food they serve your guests. Africa is a land of unwavering pride and a distinct style of hospitality.
