Welcome to the Al Qudra Desert in Dubai, where bohemian brides’ dreams have become a reality.
Our desert wedding inspiration comes from Morocco, with its Berber tents & vibrant colors. The American Southwest is another option, with Mexican influences and cacti. Today we drift into The Empty Quarter, Emirati deserts that fade to the lightest pastels sunsets—styled with neutral decor and dried taupe, nude, & cream grasses.
Our founder Elizabeth, based in Dubai, has long been intrigued by the wedding possibilities of Dubai’s outer regions. This gorgeous inspiration shot by Krust Photography confirms our long-held belief that space, neutral colors, and a golden hour are perfect for a wedding.
From Krust Photography
Al Qudra Desert near Dubai is an inspiring place. The rolling pale dunes of powdery white sand give the impression that it is uninhabitable. Only when you step inside, do you notice the subtle signs that life is springing up from the ground, creating harmony between vastness and fragility? Our inspiration for the “Desert Roses” styled shoot was this. You are mixing rustic elements with delicate and romantic ones.
Dresses
This Desert Rose-styled shoot is for the bohemian bride who loves gold. We chose to create two different looks. We decided to do two faces.
The first look we chose was the beautiful rosa by Bo & Luca, with a cape-like back and subtle beading in white. Statement earrings complete the soft, flowing look. The second look was the Amelie two-piece, hand-beaded by Bo and Luca. It had an abundance of details and soft layers of rich silk.
The Florals
We used a mixture of dried and freshly cut stems to represent the vastness and fragility of the Al Qudra Desert and fragile life. We used feathery grasses, pampas seed pods, fluffy asparagus ferns, and Lunaria seedpods in neutral dusty shades. We finished the look with white Lisianthus and mother of pearl Roses. This combination was whimsical and romantic.
The Cake
Two tiers of chocolate buttercream were used to make our cake. This elegant masterpiece was created by combining dried and fresh stems with touches of gold. It is a collective creation from Cakes By Zoya, Iris & May Florist.
Styling & Decor
Our decor is a carefully curated mix of textures, natural fibers, and warm burnt orange and golden tones. The bedouin theme was carried out with a low-seater table and leather poufs. The macrame table runner, with its small antiquities of spices and flowers arranged on top, gives the impression that you are a desert dweller. We completed the rustic look with organic baskets full of pampas and handwritten calligraphy stationary in neutral colors.
