Would you ever consider booking an event venue in a location undiscovered? When the site and location are as stunning romantic, romantic, and attractive as Costa Brava’s Castell D’Emporda, We think you could.

Anna & Hadley wanted to invite their closest and dearest to a lavish and festive wedding weekend, with guests staying on the same grounds of their wedding receptions and excursions to local entertainment and a delicious traditional Peking Duck. Castell D’Emporda checked all the boxes for their perfect wedding, and, with the assistance of their experienced planner, they incorporated numerous Chinese and Western aspects into their decor, even Chinese dancing lions!

After you’ve looked through these gorgeous images created by Tali Photographer Tali and Tali Photography, you’ll wonder what it takes to plan an event as stunning as this. The bride, Anna, has some suggestions: “Everything will be fine as long as you have the right dress and right person to walk down the aisle to.” With stunning and royal-looking Galia Lahav dresses and a gorgeous traditional Chinese dress, we’re certain Anna knows what she’s talking about.

Our Love Story

We had dinner together at a friend’s apartment in New York City two and a half years ago. My husband has told me it was the first time he saw love for him. Shortly after we began dating, he persuaded me to join the trip to St. Lucia. When we reached Mt Piton, the guide handed us a letter with a message to Mr. and Mrs. Harris. We laughed at it. My husband has kept it since then.

He proposed on a Saturday morning while in bed! I saw him clutching a ring, tears streaming down his face. He took the call and placed it on my wrist without saying yes. However, I am pretty sure I did.

The Chinese & Western Wedding Styles

To celebrate this Chinese ceremony on a Friday night, we added lots of gold, red, and elements of berries to create a fun background for lion dances and an outdoor family-style buffet. For the wedding in Western style, we went with an elegant rustic theme, with a mauve, blush, gold, and ivory palette, along with lots of hanging foliage. We wanted guests to feel like they were in a Spanish courtyard’s ambiance.

The Venue

We wanted a destination wedding within Europe and a venue where we could accommodate all our guests on-site and serve Peking ducks for our Chinese dinner. Castell D’Emporda in Spain is the only location in the entire region of Europe that has ticked both of these boxes. We reserved it on our own and hired a fabulous local wedding coordinator Carole Bipat who assisted us in designing and planning our dream wedding.

The Dress & Attire

It was a challenge to find an appropriate dress. I think I’ve probably looked at fifty dresses, if not more. When I wore my Galia Lahav Gia dress, I knew it would be my wedding gown. I felt fun, beautiful, and gorgeous, and I could not remove it. Sharon (the stylist) was present at the salon to ensure Gia was a perfect fit for me. It was a pleasure to be the bride of Galia wedding bride.

My bridesmaids all picked their dresses and hairstyles. They wanted to be comfortable and beautiful. They ultimately chose gowns with the colors blush, rose gold, and lilac. To coordinate and blend the various looks, I gifted my bridesmaids with pearl hair accessories for their hairstyles. They are gorgeous on the day of the wedding.

Memorable Moments

The old car we rented broke as we drove to the wedding. Before the altar, the groom waited for quite some time, and I thought I was cold feet. As I saw him get off the car, the anticipation and relief made the journey through the aisle more memorable.

The Important Details

The ability to offer us and our guests an unforgettable experience was of paramount priority for us. It is easy to overlook the little things at weddings, but the memories of feeling loved and celebrating with your loved ones and family will be with you. We designed a three-day sailing event, trips within the area, and wedding celebrations so guests could enjoy time together and explore new experiences.
