Are you an allergic bride or groom? You like the look of the billowing bridal bouquets but want to make sure you get down the aisle. You may not believe it, but allergy-friendly florals exist.
We conducted floral research to help our brides and grooms be allergic to fragrances or pollen. We wondered, “Which florals were least likely to trigger allergies?” We searched for flowers with minimal scents and those least likely to trigger allergies. We found a variety of creative alternatives and top-rated allergy-friendly florals.
Here are some of our favorite choices for wedding florals that are hypoallergenic.
Peonies
Peonies are beautiful and hypoallergenic. They are perfect for centerpieces and bouquets because they take up much space.

Hydrangeas
Hydrangeas are allergy-free because of their unique traits. Their pollen is sticky and can’t be released into the air. Hydrangeas occupy a large space, which is even more exciting from a design standpoint. If you’re looking for a floral arrangement that is hypoallergenic and completely beautiful, you can quickly fill in the space with hydrangeas. Create a monochromatic floral statement using hydrangea bouquets, altars, and installations. Mix beautiful shades of blue, lavender, pink, and white with muted green.

Orchids
Orchids have a low pollen content, making them one of the best florals for allergy sufferers. This floral is elegant and comes in many colors and sizes. It’s perfect for wedding decor in tropical settings or black-tie affairs.
Spring Bulbs & Rhizomes
Springtime brides and grooms are spoilt for choice with local, hypoallergenic wedding flower options. All three flowers have low pollen counts: tulips, daffodils, and irises. These florals come in a variety of colors and artistic forms. They can be combined to create a stunning bridal bouquet.

Roses
Roses have a beautiful fragrance but are not the best choice for allergy sufferers. The self-pollinating flower releases delightful scents but does not emit airborne pollen. If your allergies are based on pollen (rather than fragrance), you can include the classic rose in your bouquet and floral arrangements.

Cacti, Succulents, and Airplants
You can use succulents and cacti to embrace the Southwest trend if you are sensitive to smells and pollen. Bouquets and boutonnieres look beautiful with succulents in dusty pink, pale green, and sage shades. Cacti in pots can be used as creative centerpieces to decorate your tables (and they make great wedding favors, too!). You can also use air plants in your wedding decor and terrariums.
Silk Florals
Silk florals are a great alternative to living flowers. They look and smell just like the real thing. Companies such as Something Borrowed Blooms or Afloral are known for their premium, luxurious silk florals. The faux florals look so real that your guests won’t even notice. You won’t even sneeze on your way to the altar.
