From the beginning, Olivia Pei’s and Graham Kegged have been passionate about adventure. They love to ski, hike, explore, cook and create. This is how they met, how they became engaged and how they eventually got married.

Olivia recalls that they met in Tahoe in through mutual friends. “Graham and his friend cooked dinner for me and my friend and that was the beginning a very foodie relationship.” Olivia recalls. Olivia says that Graham proposed to Olivia while they were skiing on a mountain. He has a flair for sentimentality in that way. It was exciting because we were able to ski down the mountain right afterwards.

The couple planned a wedding in Virgin (Utah) for 125 guests, taking them from the snowy mountains to scorching desert. It was located in the middle Zion National Park at Under Canvas Zion. Olivia describes the planning process as “a place we could bring our family and friends together for a whole weekend.” We love the outdoors, and desert landscapes are a special part of our lives. This glamping location was perfect for us and all our guests (who may or not be outdoorsy).

They also enjoy hosting dinner parties so that was their theme. “We wanted the weekend feel like one big dinner arty. Good food was essential, in addition to inviting our favorite people. The wedding should be enjoyable, casual, and memorable. The fashion choice was easy. She says, “I feel so fortunate because Vera Wang was a dear friend, which made dress-shopping very easy.” It was. You can see all the details of their wedding. It was planned by Emily Jones, Gathers and photographed by SoCal standard.

Their vision was modern, which incorporated the natural tones and textures of the Utah desert with pops of color. Emily Jones, the planner, and Genevieve Hubbard, the floral designer at Wild Flora were instrumental in bringing the vision to fruition. The bouquet was the first step. Hubbard created a bouquet for the bride using soft desert flowers and wild foraged textures. He tied it with one wrap made of plant-dyed, light blue ribbon. Olivia says that the arrangement was minimalist in design with a focus on movement and shape.
